Dear Friends and followers of The Healing Cross Project
This is what I want you to know….
Grief never takes a day off! It rears its ugly head during holidays, birthdays, celebrations, and life! Just like in the movie Groundhog Day, it’s a recurring nightmare that robs you of YOU! We are STRONGER than grief, and we will not let it define us!
Derrick’s death has taught me about life and what we can do to serve those that suffer. It is present at every street corner, home, neighborhood, and school; It’s everywhere. I implore everyone to work together towards the common good of others. Do something that matters. Show them by example; their lives do have meaning.
On October 12th, we held another day of Showering the Homeless. The HCP, along with Thundershowers and Frank Bennett Reality, served hundreds of the homeless. There were many who gave their time and hard-earned money. Also, many of you cleaned your closets bringing us clothing, shoes, blankets, undergarments, socks, you name it, we got it!
I am indebted to each and every one of you. Thank you for contributing and allowing us to serve those that suffer!
Our next Showering will take place November 16. Reach out to us to volunteer or donate.
